This week, I obtained the tissue samples that were submitted to the pathology department for sectioning, with invaluable assistance from Dr. Ramirez. These murine patellar tendon samples will be stained with H&E and analyzed early next week to assess the progression of tendinopathy in a collagenase-induced injury model.
I also shadowed Dr. Gulotta in clinic, where I observed post-operation evaluations and consultations focused on shoulder injuries at different timepoints after surgery, including rotator cuff tears and total shoulder replacement surgeries. I was impressed by Dr. Gulotta’s ability to adapt his communication style to fit patients, trainees, and residents on the fly.
