This week was a good start to the summer immersion program. Allison and I started off this week meeting the lab members of Dr. Vanpouille-Box Lab and Dr.Demaria’s lab and our PIs. We started off the week with a meeting with Dr. Vanpouille-Box who gave a run down of the lab and the current projects she has occurring in the lab. We then got to shadow a Post-doc as she cultured some glioblastoma cells, she then explained her research and the project she is working on. We shadowed another student as she extracted CD45+ cells from irradiated mice mammary fat pad tissue. Tuesday, we were able to join a meeting that the group has to discuss their grants and other researchers at other institutions projects. The rest of the week we started to develop experimental planning and prepare for a research presentation that we will present at the next group meeting next Tuesday.
